Water is the element that provides deep resources, reserves, and the foundation of life, the five elements, and yin and yang. While water may take many forms, the gift of water is a willingness to rest and restore. Water is seen as winter energy, and the capacity to be solitary, sit in the silence and darkness of the unknown, and wait for the wisdom to come. It is one’s fear transformed into courage, untapped power or potential, and inner North Star providing light in the dark, winter night.

Restorative yoga postures, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques to clear, strengthen, and balance the water energy, element, and meridians in the body in preparation for the winter and to rest and recharge. The workshop begins with a discussion of the water element, winter season, and foods to help transition into winter followed by specific yoga poses and breathing techniques to bring in the water aspects of stillness, courage, and wisdom. Class ends with an extended relaxation with the option of ear acupuncture needles or vaccaria seeds in the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) protocol points. The NADA protocol is used worldwide, and uses up to 5 acupuncture needles or seeds in each ear.  Some of the benefits of the NADA protocol include reduced anxiety and stress, improved sleep, and increased calmness.

The cost of the workshop is $100; pre-registration is required.
